Sun–Moon Aspects
Sun–Moon aspects describe how being seen and feeling safe share one chart. The Sun is identity. The Moon is need, and it changes signs about every two and a half days. Birth time is strictly required to place the angle.

Orbs widen by about a degree and a half when the Sun or Moon is one of the two planets. A wide orb is a weaker contact. This page is the aspect inside one birth chart, not a comparison between two people.
Conjunction
A Sun–Moon conjunction puts the public self and the private need on the same degree. What they show is close to what they feel. There is little gap between being seen and being safe, which is simple for them and intense for everyone else. A slight lands on both. Praise lands on both. They do not keep a back room where the mood can disagree with the face. The sign of the conjunction is the whole weather: a solar identity and a lunar need wearing one costume. New Moon people, in the old phrasing, start from a single will. That will is not automatically selfish. It is undivided. Other people experience a person who is all there, and who may not notice that other lives are divided on purpose. Partners can feel met and crowded. Family gets the same temperature in public and at home, which is a gift until the home needed a different hour. The hard part is the missing interior argument. They can confuse “this is who I am” with “this is what I need,” and steamroll a quieter want because it did not put up a separate flag. Use the coherence. Leave one feeling that is allowed to be smaller than the identity. The people who live with this conjunction need an hour that is not also a performance.
Square and opposition
The square and the opposition set the life they perform against the life that would soothe them. The aim and the mood interrupt each other. A goal shames a feeling. A feeling undercuts a goal. They can look inconsistent to people who only meet one half. The square is the jam inside one body. The friction is daily: a mood that will not support the role, a role that will not feed the mood. It is hard to outsource. The person is both sides of the argument, often in the same afternoon, and the people nearby get the weather without the explanation. The opposition is the same argument across a distance. One half is lived. The other is met in a partner, a parent, or a public. The classic shape is marrying the missing Moon, or building a Sun that the private life never gets to inhabit. The square irritates until the two halves share a schedule. The opposition needs an other, and it will keep finding one until the chart claims both. Neither aspect means the person is split beyond repair. Both mean identity and safety do not arrive as one gift. Birth time still decides whether the aspect is there. The Moon will not wait for a birthday to be precise. A few hours can move it out of the square and into no aspect at all.
Sextile and trine
The sextile and the trine let identity and safety talk without a standing fight. The person can be seen and still feel like themselves, at least more often than the hard aspects allow. Feeling informs the role. The role does not have to exile the feeling. Other people experience someone who is readable without being raw. The sextile is a door. You can let the mood correct the performance, and let the aim give the mood a direction, if you bother. Unused, it looks like a life that is fine and slightly unclaimed. The trine is the agreement arriving as temperament. They already match, so they may never notice the gift until they meet a chart with a hard Sun–Moon and see the fight they did not have to have. The trine differs from the sextile because it does not ask to be practiced. Harmony can stay unconscious. They may assume everyone can live at home inside their own name, and they can under-use a talent that would have made a public life and a private life the same house on purpose. Ease is real. It is not a reason to skip the conversation between what you show and what you need. Ask which half is tired before you call the life balanced. The sextile can still be ignored. The trine can still be asleep.
